The 11th Armored Cavalry's Veterans of Vietnam & Cambodia was founded in 1984 after 75 names of Blackhorse Troopers were collected in Washington DC at the dedication of the "Three Fighting Men" statue near Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
Reunions have been held every year since 1986. Reunion sites have been: Arlington, TX; Washington DC; Louisville, KY; Minneapolis, MN; Sacramento, CA; Philadelphia, PA; San Antonio, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Colorado Springs, CO; Appleton, WI; Louisville, KY; Las Vegas, NV; New Orleans, LA. The 1999 Reunion was held in San Diego, CA, and the 2000 Reunion will be held in Buffalo, NY. In 2001, Ft. Myers, VA has been chosen to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 11th US Cavalry formed in 1901.
We have been able to reunite many of our brothers by keeping a computer master file of everyone we've found by their name, squadron and troop and their dates in-country. Access to the Master File is available on the link to the left. There you can search by name, unit, dates of service etc. for members of our organization. We update our rosters continuously to assure they are accurate and complete. We have reunited many buddies this way.
We publish a quarterly newsletter to each member of 11 ACVVC with reunion information, historical stories by our membership and information about our current members and events. Participation in contributing to the contents of the newsletter is encouraged to all.
We provide scholarships to our K.I.A.'s children,
our 11 ACVVC members, and the children of our membership. In the past years, we have
provided over $85,000.00 in college scholarships to help defray the expensive costs of a
college education. Scholarships are for $2,000 per individual. This program is
one of our most coveted programs, helping our children get an education and to become our
leaders for the future of our country.
"I love the sound of armor in the morning"
"It sounds like victory"
We remember our killed in action who lost their lives in Vietnam and Cambodia each Memorial Day by placing a wreath at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
We continue to search for our brother veterans who served with us in Vietnam and Cambodia through special locators, mailings, handouts, and advertising in veteran newspapers and magazines. Our goal is to find ALL of our former troopers who served with us and to "Reunite The Regiment" again.
We answered our Country's call and served proudly
with the best combat unit to have fought in the Vietnam War. On the
Site Contents (Left) you will see a "Find an Old
Friend" entry. This will send you to a common 11th ACVVC/BHA locator page where you
may have your name, e-mail address, unit and dates of service posted in order that
old friends may find you. In order to post this information we must have your permission
so please send it HERE
if you would like to be added. You do not have to be a member to be listed!
This page is here to serve you! We welcome your suggestions as to page content, look, style, or any comments you may have. If you think we are missing something, tell us! Asking for money is always unpleasant, however it does cost money to maintain this site. Therefore we must ask your support. We think we have a good thing going here and that it is a genuine benefit for those who served our Regiment.
We will take anything you can send, be it your pocket change, or for those people of means out there, a million dollars would do nicely! Any funds received in excess of those necessary to maintain this site will be put into the general fund for other association needs. Please send any amount to:
