Dear Sir,
I was a Blackhorse Trooper from 1995 to 1999. First I would
like to say
thank you for all you guys did over there. Both of my parents were there
from 1969 to 1971. That is where they met. Sir, I wish I could express to
you the pride I feel to have been a member of our great organization. I was a Specialist
in HHT and C Troop. I am now in Flight Training at Fort Rucker and I am a Warrant Officer.
It was heartbreaking for me to leave the Regiment but I hope to get back someday when they
reactivate the Air Cav Troop. There are many troopers here not only from the NTC but from
Fulda in the eighties and whenever I find one it is like finding a lost brother. I know
that it was not like it was for you guys but I think I understand a little of why the
Blackhorse is such a tight knit group. A friend from my hometown flew medivac from 1/145
Aviation and my mother was a nurse at the Evac hospital at Long Binh and remembers working
on Blackhorse troopers. I guess I am writing this because I want you guys to know that
some of the new generation appreciates what you did over there despite how the war is
spoken of now. Some of us want to continue the legacy of honor that the US Army and our
Regiment were founded on. I thank God that I am able to be a part of it and hope one day
to return to the Blackhorse. Although I cannot attend the reunion this year if you could
send me some highlights and tell the folks there that we do care and that we will do our
best to make you proud of us.
Allons!

To all Blackhorse troopers from all eras, the pride of having served with
such a great outfit is shared no matter in what part of the world you served with THE CAV.
I hope this great soldier again serves with the Blackhorse because the best
soldiers should be with the best outfit. We had the best in the past and continue to
get the best Officers and enlisted!
Allons,
