Myth Most Men Who Served Were Drafted
Only 25% of those who actually served on the ground in Vietnam were
drafted. The remaining 75% volunteered for the Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy,
and Coast Guard. Less than 38% of those killed in action were draftees. So
contrary to the myth popular at the time, being drafted during the Vietnam War
Era was not a "death sentence".
